From the bride (Evie):
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
I wanted a vintage, elegant wedding with hints of rose gold and petal pink. I wanted the presentation to have a throw back feel. I thought about my grandparents and their weddings.
How did you feel on your wedding day?
I was excited, I was more nervous about presentation more than anything else but I knew when I saw my future husband every other pointless stress would go away. And it did.
Can you pick a favorite memory from the day?
Of course my favorite moment from my wedding was becoming an Ortez and becoming one with my best friend but family related definitely when I danced with all of the men in my family who impacted my life by being father figures since my dad had passed away when I was 13 to "Butterfly kisses" and before the song a butterfly landed on my shoulder. It was a godsend and I firmly believe that.
What's one thing you would share with engaged folks to help them in this season of life?
Just breathe. Everything will go so fast on your wedding day but keep in mind that your marriage is what is more important. We are so fixated on things being perfect (at least I am) to enjoy the now. I'm not going to remember the cake flavor, the center pieces or the conversations I had but I will remember the look on my husbands face when he saw me and the vows he told me. I will also remember the weight that was lifted off of my shoulders when we made a foundation for our future family that day.
