Four MORE Venues in Austin I LOVE

After I wrote my first post about four venues in Austin I’m obsessed with, I realized I would eventually HAVE to write more. There are literally hundreds of venues across the greater Austin area and so many of them are incredible and deserve to be raved about! Here are four MORE venues in Austin that are worth your consideration as you begin your search:

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
 4801 La Crosse Ave
Austin, TX 78739

I’m in love with all of the natural beauty at the LBJ Wildflower Center – a botanical garden that also hosts events. The market lights in the courtyard create an intimate feel for receptions while the grand hall provides a stress-free ceremony location with beautiful views. I love that weddings hosted here have that Hill Country feeling without being all the way out in Dripping Springs. From a photo perspective, there’s fantastic lighting and an abundance of beautiful nature backdrops to choose from for portraits, as well as plenty of covered spaces with beautiful lighting in the event of bad weather – which is always something to consider!

Park 31
1200 Park Rd 31
Spring Branch, TX 78070

Park 31 is a little further south than the rest – just off the beaten path in Spring Branch, TX. I chose to include it because Park 31 is such a unique venue – offering a modern industrial aesthetic you’d be hard pressed to find elsewhere in the greater Austin area. It’s sophisticated, spacious, and architecturally interesting. I personally am in love with the Live Oak ceremony site – the lighting is absolutely stunning there if you time it correctly. As a photographer, I love the chance to play around with the darker, more dramatic backdrops that Park 31 offers – while still having the classic hill country aesthetic available that so many Texas couples love.

Hidden River Ranch
10715 US-281
Lampasas, TX 76550

On the other site of the greater Austin area lies the expansive Hidden River Ranch. Sitting on 540 acres, it’s a family owned and operated location that’s the perfect mix of rustic and elegant. You might have figured out by now that I’m a big fan of venues that offer an indoor ceremony site option, as I just feel that it alleviates so much stress related to the weather. HRR’s chapel is majestic, light, airy, all the pretty things. I also love that everything is so consolidated – which makes my life easier as a vendor running all over the place depending on what we’re photographing at the moment AND in my opinion, makes your guest experience streamlined. When I shot here last summer for Sarah and Jon’s wedding, the owners were nice enough to drive us around the property in their off-road vehicle so we could take portraits at different spots! You don’t get that kind of hands-on attention from many venues, but the owners were more than happy to do it.

Pecan Springs Ranch
10601 B Derecho Drive
Austin, TX 78737

Ok, I’m going to break my rule on this one because they don’t have a dedicated indoor ceremony space (you’d have to flip the reception space) – BUT! Everything else about PSR is an A+ in my book. Acres and acres of towering trees, lush lawns, and the fireplace ceremony site is just begging for a sprawling floral installation. When I shot here back in May it was like I didn’t even have to think about where to do portraits because literally *everywhere* was beautiful. The reception space is a blank slate that is just waiting to be transformed by a couple’s unique vision. I absolutely love shooting here!
